Updated Code of Practice is now available |
The new version of the Code of Practice 9th edition (9.4) comes into effect from today (26 October 2023).

This new version of the Code of Practice contains information on the 2022 changes to the law on the storage of gametes and embryos as well as smaller changes to other areas of guidance.
This update contains revisions to 17 of the 33 guidance notes on topics including the storage of gametes and embryos, CE marked medical devices, egg sharing arrangements, complaints and ‘rescue’ ICSI.
The guidance notes that have been updated are: -

- Guidance note 3: Counselling and patient support
- Guidance note 4: Information to be provided prior to consent

- Guidance note 21: Intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)
- Guidance note 22: Research and training
- Guidance note 26: Equipment and materials
